Florida Psychiatric Society

Founded in 1956 as a district branch of the American Psychiatric Association, the Florida Psychiatric Society is a 501(c)6 not-for-profit trade association dedicated to providing continuing education to its Members, promoting the latest advances in the specialty, and supporting the highest standards in psychiatry. We have over 1,500 medical doctors (MD or DO) as members.

FPS works to promote mental health and to encourage the highest possible standards of clinical practice and ethical behavior in psychiatry. Through its education programs, meetings, publications, and lobbying efforts, it aims to increase knowledge about mental disorders and to advocate for the practice of psychiatry in the state of Florida.
