Congress is considering several proposals to cut Medicaid in its budget reconciliation efforts, including some that would shift costs to the states, reduce eligibility or benefits, and/or impose additional barriers to coverage and enrollment. Tell your member of Congress and Senators to oppose these damaging proposals. All people, regardless of income, should have access to quality mental health and substance use disorder care.
Not only is it critically important to maintain Medicaid for access to healthcare and mental healthcare for all Floridians, but access to long-term care benefits through Medicaid supports the most vulnerable patient population - those that are living in nursing homes or ALFs and are dependent on healthcare professionals for assistance with ADLs and iADLs in addition to higher-level medical and psychiatric care. Compassion should not be partisan. Please vote to keep Medicaid robust for Florida citizens.
