Florida Psychiatric Society is providing information about the following position which will become available in May 2020:

Executive Director

Job Summary: The Executive Director works with officers, members, consultants, advisers, staff experts and others to implement programs and policies determined and approved by Florida Psychiatric Society (FPS) leadership.

Qualifications:

1.     College Degree and non-profit management experience.   In healthcare organization management, association management or other relevant expertise meeting FPS requirements, including sufficient experience with ACCME criteria and guidelines to coordinate and manage continuing medical education (CME) program and events.

2.     Strong interpersonal skills.  Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with a wide range of professionals including FPS officers, members and staff, leaders of other professional and partner organizations, key APA staff, external consultants and vendors.

3.     Communication and coordination skills necessary to further the advocacy skills necessary to further the advocacy goals of the organization.

4.     Writing skills.  Ability to conceptualize and communicate position statements on issues facing FPS in clear language, and communicate FPS correspondence, documentation and electronic communications in a professional, business-like writing style.

5.     Critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills.  Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions and be creative in problem solving.  Ability to direct, delegate and utilize the skills and resources of others to achieve FPS goals.  Ability to plan and prioritize wide ranging tasks and priorities daily, weekly and annually.

6.     Computer skills.  For example, Microsoft Office suite, outlook email, database, and internet technologies for daily communication, research, analysis and execution of operational duties.
