About our Accreditation
The Florida Psychiatric Society is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to provide Continuing Medical Education for physicians. The Florida Psychiatric Society designates live activities for a maximum number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ based on sessions offered at each meeting.
How we report your Credits
The Florida Psychiatric Society reports your CME credits using online evaluation forms distributed at the end of each CME event. If you attend a meeting, you will be emailed a link where each session you attended will be listed (attendance is tracked using QR codes). Please complete an evaluation form for each individual presentation you attended. You must fill out one evaluation for each talk.
FPS will report your CME credits to CE Broker within 30 days. Please check CE Broker after that time period to confirm your CME has been recorded properly.
We automatically report to CE Broker on your behalf and any duplicate reporting can confuse the system and cause delays. However, if you need to report to another state, or just want backup in your own files, you can request that on your evaluation form.
When do we offer Relicensure courses?
The courses needed for Relicensure are offered at every other annual Spring CME Meeting & EXPO (2023, 2025, and 2027). Please see our Events tab for information about the upcoming Spring meeting.
Florida MD Relicensure Information
Florida DO Relicensure Information
The CME/CE tabs on each page will give you a breakdown of the requirements and options for relicensure.
The Human Trafficking CME Course (required in accordance with Section 456.0341, Florida Statutes) will be offered at the Spring 2020 Meeting. The Statues require this credit to be earned by January 1, 2021. This requirement will not affect your ability to renew your license before January 1, 2021. However, if the course is taken before your renewal date, the CE credit will count towards your renewal requirement. Find out more here.
Does FPS offer Online CME Courses?
Currently, we do not offer online CME. However, we hope to do so in the future. Keep an eye on our website and E-Connect for updates!
In the meantime, please use the CE Broker website or FOMA to search for CME/CE courses to fulfill requirements online.
If you are taking online courses, we recommend reviewing the relicensure requirements for your license, as there may be restrictions on the number of online courses you can take, or which ones may be done online.
